An annual or perennial plant called mayweed resembles the German chamomile. It features vast solitary daisy-like flowers on slightly hairy stems. Stinking mayweed is a plant with an offensive odor, as its name suggests.
Mayweed is "good for women with failing down of the womb if they just wash their feet with a decoction of it," herbalist K'Eogh writes in his book 1735 Irish Irish Herbal.
This herb frequently grows wild in Siberia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the United States. In the summer, the blooms and leaves are harvested.
