Fringed Pink is an upright perennial plant that grows up to 80 cm in height. It produces large, fragrant pink or lilac blooms and has slender, lance-shaped leaves.
The earliest reference to Fringed Pink is found in the Chinese herbal Divine Husbandman's Classic (Shen'nong Bencaojing), which was written in the first century CE.
Fringed Pink is a plant species native to Europe and northern Asia, including China and Japan. It can grow up to 2,400 meters (7,900 feet). The plant is usually grown from seed and can grow in bunches on slopes and cracks in eastern China. It is only collected during the flowering season.
