Benzoin gum is a deciduous tree that grows up to 9 m tall. It bears clusters of fragrant, white bell-shaped flowers and has pointed, oval leaves.
Habitat & Cultivation
It is indigenous to Southeast Asia and thrives in tropical rainforests. The gum is harvested from cuts in the bark of trees at least seven years old.
